You’ll BAWL when you find out why this mum does NOT want to dilute the love between her daughters
Lindsay Wolf has a very busy household with two girls coming and going every other day.
The mum-of-two has a fifteen-month-old daughter, Juniper, and a pre-teen step-daughter, Bella.
And while the ‘correct’ terminology for the girls is half-sisters, Lindsay took to her blog This Vegan Mum to state:
“I have a daughter and a stepdaughter. I have a daughter and a stepdaughter who call each other sisters. Not half-sisters. Not step-sisters. SISTERS.”
Explaining why herself and husband Matt will never use the term for her two girls, encouraging them to call one another sisters, the mum shares:
“Because when Bella held June for the first time, Matt and I saw two sisters already madly in love.
There was no extra label needed to dilute the love we saw.
They were and are and always will be sisters.
Sisters who happen to see each other half of the week.
Sisters who, when reunited, act so happy it would brighten even the grumpiest person's day.
Sisters who kiss and hug and smile at each other like it's always the very first time they're meeting.”
Taking a beautiful snap of the two girls playing inspired the mum to write, taking in the chaos that is getting the girls up and out in the mornings, Lindsay realised sometimes she forgets to take it all in.
“In the rush of school mornings, it's so easy for me to miss out on the magic of watching these girls enjoy each other.
For a few minutes, I got to be reminded of why we don't use hyphens or labels.
I got to be reminded of why we let our kiddos just be sisters.”
These girls definitely have a special bond, aren't they adorable?
Such a beautiful post by Lindsay, and we definitely agree.
