You won’t believe what this girl thinks of her mum’s postpartum body
Janene Crossley has become a mum again for the fourth time having already given birth to two girls and a boy.
But this time around, her eldest daughter has something to say about her postpartum body.
Mum posted a snap to her Instagram posing alongside her three daughters in a T-shirt labelled:
“Strong is the new pretty.”
While the message is loud and clear, it was her five-year-old who took the main focus of the snap due to her actions.
Seeing her mum’s postpartum tummy, the youngster grabbed it and gave it a tummy twister.
Laughing hysterically, Mum tells us her daughter claimed: “It feels like bubble gum!!!”
Janene shared: “Stretched, loose and marked up. It's beautiful. This belly of mine will forever share my story. It's a novel that pleaded and prayed to house my babies.”
“The fresh, crepe-paper skin means that tiny Avery is nestled in my arm instead of on the inside. My sore chest means that I'm still single-handedly growing this baby.”
But Janene is celebrating; celebrating the body that brought four little miracles into her life, and she is hoping that her daughters can also be confident in their own skin, always.
“I'm feeling 100% proud of this postpartum body, with its jelly abs and shrivelled up skin. It made me a mother. A mother who now has cellulite because that's just how my body handled pregnancy.”
And why shouldn’t she? As Janene concludes, she will now have ‘a lifetime of unconditional pure love for the four little ones’, and that’s exactly what it’s all about.
