You need to see this! A nine-year-old girl is saving lives with her new invention
A nine-year-old girl is helping to save thousands of kid’s lives every year with this amazing new invention – and it's incredible.
Jenny Rapson’s daughter Sophie was required to complete a project for her school's Innovation Convention, when she came up with this genius idea.
Called the ‘Baby Forget Me Not’, it was created so that parents would not forget their children seated in the back of the car.
A long coiled spring, all parents have to do is attach one end to their child, and the other end to their your car keys using the Velcro straps.
This way, when Mum or Dad leaves the car it is impossible to forget the baby – as you need to bring your keys too!
The video has been inundated with comments from users, many complimenting the Ohio girl for being incredibly bright.
But it has also received a lot of backlash, with many people horrified that parents would forget their children and leave them in the car.
While others suggested it was a bad idea for safety reasons:
“I can imagine so many parents having their keys sling out of their hands and smacking the kids” stated Splinks.
With Buttonmstr adding: “I do see one big design flaw, in that putting too much tension on your ignition switch can over time cause trouble in it.”
“That’s why they recommend not putting too many keys on your key ring for your car. If the strap was attached to the parent in some way, like on a belt loop, your ignition would thank you for it.”
While there are plenty of mixed reactions to go around, we have to admit for a nine-year-old, that was a pretty smart invention!
