Woman wakes from a coma and discovers the most incredible thing
You've seen it happen in movies: the main character wakes up from a coma and discovers the last however many months or years of their lives have been wiped out.
Terrifying thought, isn't it?
Well, this is exactly what happened to Angela Sartin-Hartung.
Five years ago in New York City, Angela was crossing the road when she was hit by a car.
After one month of being in a coma and suffering from traumatic brain injury, Angela woke up.
However, all her memories from the last 15 years had vanished like a puff of smoke.
She still believed that she was married to her first husband, who was long dead.
She also thought that her kids were still young even though they were grown up now.
And she had absolutely no recollection of her second marriage, to her husband Jeff.
Despite being heartbroken, Jeff decided not to give up on his wife.
He courted Angela like he had when they first met and they soon fell in love all over again.
How much of a real life fairytale is that?
Jeff spoke to CBS News, where he revealed why he thinks that the whole situation was a blessing in disguise.
''I honestly believe that this happened for a reason,” Jeff said. “How many times have we said, ‘I wish I could go back and do something over again?’ I’ve gotten to do that.”
How sweet!
To matters even more romantic, the couple recently renewed their wedding vows in Central Park.
According to The Christian Post, Angela is still praying for a full recovery.
"I honestly believe this happened for a reason," she said after the wedding.
"We're still praying for complete healing and recovery, whatever that is," she added.
