'We just want you': mum pens sweet letter to baby on the day before it's due
Mum-of-seven and blogger, Constance Hall, is expecting a baby boy any day now.
The 34-year-old from Perth, Australia penned a letter welcoming her new arrival into the world- and honestly we're in bits.
At 36 weeks, Hall and her husband Denim Cooke announced on Instagram that they had opted for elective C-section due to fears of prolapse.
"Dear baby in my belly," she writes. "Tomorrow we get to meet you. And here’s a couple of things I want you to know."
While she has four kids and two step-children, Hall always had a suspicion that their family wasn't done expanding just yet.
"The minute your dad and I got together we knew you were coming. We talked about you, joked about you and even picked out some names. Your dad told me he’d had a sign from the gods… I smiled, took another sip from my wine and proceeded to comb out his dreadlocks."
With a new baby comes a range of possibilities with who they're going to be in the future.
"We don’t know anything about you, you might be wild and challenging of everything society throws at you like us or you might wear a suit, brush your hair and get 4 degrees. You might be a tough and tumble sporty boy like your dad or an emotional artsy person like your mum.
"Or you could always be both.. You might even decide you don’t want to be a boy. We don’t care. We just want you."
She continues to say that the pregnancy has actually brought her and her husband closer together, and that she hopes that that love is something her baby will one day experience.
"But what I do know is that last night your dad told me that the hardest park of this extremely painful pregnancy for him has been watching me in pain and not be able to take that pain away from me and swap it for himself.
"And that’s what I want for you, deep meaningful connections with your friends, your siblings, us, your dog, a lover.. don’t settle until you find someone who’s hurt hurts you and who’s smile makes you laugh. We don’t own our kids, you’ve just entrusted us to guide and protect you for a while. And we will do that."
She signs off welcoming him into the family.
"This huge chaotic family of soon 7 kids, 2 dog and 2 madly in love parents has a place for everyone. Your place for the time being is in my arms. And I simply cannot wait to sniff you tomorrow."
It turns out that she didn't have to wait long to meet him, little Raja arrived at 38 weeks and 9 lbs 9 ounces.
Welcome little Raja! With a letter like that no doubt he'll be welcomed into their big family with loving arms.
