Wait until you see the special bond this adopted boy shares with his new grandad

After many challenging hurdles a couple desperate to adopt a child were presented with a photo of Kirill, a 4-year old boy from Kazakhstan.

Although Doug and Lesley Facey, from Newfoundland, Canada, knew straight away they wanted to adopt him, authorities in Kazakhstan asked them many times if they were sure.

Why? Because Kirill was missing a hand.

“The mentality over there is he’s not perfect, and that’s a bunch of poppycock because anyone who speeds five seconds around Kirill knows that won’t stop him,” Doug told Buzzfeed.

“With all due respect, this little guy, there’s nothing wrong with him. He’s missing a hand; I don’t consider him disabled.”

And it’s no wonder Doug feels this way, because coincidentally, his own father, Chris Facey, is missing a hand too.

“I don't consider my dad disabled,” Doug told TODAY Parents. “He's done whatever he's put his mind to for as long as I can remember. I feel inspired by my dad's strength and determination.”

The first time Kirill met Chris was incredibly special. Suddenly Kirill, used to feeling ‘different’ met someone who was just like him – his new grandad!

“My dad held out his stump and Kirill held out his and they bumped,” Doug told Buzzfeed.

“They have a very special bond; every time they see each other they do the stump bump, as well call it.” Aw!

And grandad Chris has some inspiring words: “My parents never considered nor let me believe I was disabled. They told me there was nothing I couldn't do if I wanted it and that has been proven right.

"I, along with my wife and children, will make sure Kirill knows that the sky is the limit for him as well. I can demonstrate and show Kirill this on a daily basis.”

Wow, Kirill is a very lucky boy to have such an amazing family!
