Truckers help disabled teen celebrate his birthday in the sweetest way

Dakota "Bubba" Caadd is a 16-year-old who loves to sit in his back yard along Wisconsin Highway 26, hoping that truckers will blow their horns for him.

And they honk their horns and give him t-shirts and hats from their respective trucking companies.

However, last weekend, they went the extra mile for his birthday.

''Bubba'' has Dandy-Walker Malformation, which affects brain development and movement coordination.

He also has cerebral palsy, so he can walk with assistance, but he does have cognitive delays and has Ataxia (shaking weak muscles, with occasional spasms) as well as mild seizures.

"When he was little we wanted him to gain weight so we started calling him "Bubba" and that's how he got the nickname," his mum, Peggy Cadd said

So what did the truck drivers decide to do for his birthday?

They organised a small backyard barbecue event, which turned into a party of 150 trucks and 1,000 truck drivers at Schilberg Park in Milton.

"He's got a lot of love in his heart, he grabs you, he wants hugs or kisses and he definitely wants your cap," Tinker Raasch Owner and Operator of Bare Rabbit Ranch Trucking said.

"We're actually more his fans, you know, look what he brought together, he continued.

Happy birthday Bubba – and well done to the trucking company for throwing a wonderful day that we're sure he won't forget.
