Toddler and kitten form incredible bond after two-year-old loses her left arm

Two-year-old Scarlette from California, was diagnosed with lipofibromatosis when she was just 10-months-old. And, in order to save her life, doctors had to amputate the toddler's left arm.

Following her traumatic experience, Scarlette's parents bought their little girl a kitten named Holly to help aid her recovery.

However, Holly isn't just any kitten; in fact, like Scarlette, she too has lost a limb – her left front leg – due a traumatic injury in December.

Holly was brought to Riverside County's San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus for treatment after two women found her bleeding back in 2015.

After she recovered, the kitten was adopted by Scarlette's family, and the toddler and her new friend bonded instantly, according to TomoNews US.

According to her mother, the little girl "recognises that the cat has similar struggles as she does" and the pair developed a deep friendship.

"She's only two, but I think she really understood and it clicked with her that the cat was just like her."
