This video of little girl and her bus driver friend will melt your heart
Four-year-old Sebastiana Balistreri has an untraditional best friend- a long-time bus driver.
Every morning, the tot, from Milwaukee, and her mother take the same bus to school. And every morning they're greeted by the friendly driver, John Reed.
But a recent act of kindness by the bus driver is melting the cold hearts of the Internet.
Reed was changing bus routes, so he decided to give his little friend a present.
"Good morning, sweetie!" he greeted the little one and her mum, Tracy. "Oh my gosh. How are you? I got you a card, I got you a colouring book and there's something else in there for you."
He hands her over a goodie bag, and her little face lights up. The adorable moment was captured by security cameras in the bus, and we are so glad they did. We cannot handle this cuteness!
Speaking to Inside Edition, Tracy explains how the brief interactions with Reed would light up their day:
"My daughter is very happy," she said. "That's just the way she is. In the morning, when she sees him coming, she gets very excited. They just struck up a friendship."
Inside the card, Reed had written a very special note:
"I can honestly say that over the past months you have been my favourite lil bus passenger. Your happy smile and warm 'Good Mornings' have brightened my everyday. I want to thank you for being a GREAT EXAMPLE for others to follow."
Tracy, who works as a nail technician, posted about the exchange on Facebook.
"I often wonder if I'm doing this parenting thing right. I really try to teach my child to be polite and respectful of others, but most importantly to be kind," she begins.
"Every morning Sebastiana and I take the city bus (Green Line) to school and work. We try to always take the same bus because we made friends with the driver John.
"She is always super excited to see him, she always wishes him a good morning, and tells him the latest titbit of news in her 4 year old life. She wrote him a Valentine, and he gave her one too. They are best buddies."
Cue the tears.
While the new bus driver is perfectly polite, he's no John Reed- we hope that this pair stay best buddies forever!
