This mum’s hair tie hack will help you keep your cool when the kids are being a little testy
Being a mum is frustrating, incredible and downright exhausting, so it is easy to lose our cool every now and again.
And while it is perfectly normal, it is important that we try our best to keep it together, which is why we love this mum's hair tie hack so much.
Angel Carmen took to Facebook to share a little hack she has to help her remain patient with her "testy four-year-old".
"Today, I tried something new," she wrote on her page.
"Something that required me to exercise patience with my oh so testy four-year-old.
"I wore five rubber bands on my wrist from the time I got up, to the time I tucked him in just now. The five rubber bands represent every time you lose your cool or say something unkind to your child.
"Every time that happens, you move one band to the other wrist."
But you can gain a band back by doing five positive things with your child: dance, sing a song or read together.
"I read that science shows for every bad reaction, it takes five POSITIVE reactions to regain a positive relationship," she continued.
"I'm going to be using this method until it becomes a habit and basically turns into an auto pilot ritual."
The mum was at the end of her tether when she came up with the idea to use the hair ties this way, and we are so glad she did.
"I was to the point of crying at least every other day. I have finished the day with all five bands on the original wrist.
"I'm very proud of myself for exercising patience with him.
"I know it's only day one but I'm hopeful this will help our communication skills and our relationship."
"If you find yourself being that 'Angry Mom', try this!"
Clever. Will you be trying this out?
