This mother's tactic for dealing with her daughter's tantrums is, eh, a tad unusual
Tantrums: the most frustrating and overwhelming part of the toddler years.
Yes, they are a part of growing up… but seriously they are tough to deal with at the best of times.
But are you willing to try anything to stop one in its tracks?
Well, mum-of-two Carrie Bickmore is… but we're not sure if we'll be taking a leaf out of her book.
Why? Because she mimics her kids – Oliver and Evie – when they're having a meltdown.
Blogger Jules Sebastian was speaking on The Juggling Act podcast, when she recalled a story that Carrie had once told her.
“I was talking with Carrie Bickmore and she said that her little one had a meltdown and a tantrum – like one of those on the floor, like fists, everything," Jules explained.
“She said she just remembered that someone had told her that you have to mimic the behaviour, so she got on the floor in the shopping centre and did the thing."
Fair play to the mum; while we'd consider doing this at home where no one is looking at us… we'd be a little worried to try it out in a public place.
However, sometimes needs must so you never know, one day you might see us lying in the middle of the cereal aisle, arms flailing, legs trashing as we deal with our kid's meltdown.
What do you think? Will you be giving it a try?
