This man dressed up as a knight for his friend’s son’s christening for the most hilarious reason
Christenings are a lovely family occasion: grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends all gather together to welcome your child into the Church, and it's just a nice day out altogether.
However, like most of these official days, it can be a little dull and drawn out, especially if you have been to a good few already.
So many of us look to some form of entertainment to get everybody laughing and having fun.
Which is exactly what this dad wanted to happen when he told his friend that his son's christening was fancy dress.
And he believed him.
Posted to imgur by user Surgas, this is how the "evil plan" was carried out:
"Three weeks before the party we where hanging out at my place and at some point out of the blue I said: 'By the way, the christening party is going to be different – it will be a costume party!'"
"It came quite sudden and I did expect the usual 'shut up you twat!' but he just looked at me though a bit suspicious…
"I had an iPad in my lap and I started to search for cool costumes. We had some great laughs and talked about going as Rocksteady and Bebob.
"At this point I was actually sure he had figured out the scam but hey, we had fun.
"He went home and I did not think more of it. Two weeks later he suddenly texted me [saying] that he had found the PERFECT outfit and asked if I had a plastic sword he could borrow.. what the…?!
"I answered: 'sorry I do not have a plastic sword; looking forward to see your outfit'.
"Even at this point – two weeks later – I actually thought he was just playing along with the joke.
"I guess I was wrong.
"I was literally rolling around the floor laughing when he entered the church!"
Made my best friend believe my sons christening party was a costume party…
Fair play to him for being such a good sport and staying around for the whole day. This is one christening the guests certainly won't forget anytime soon.
