This is one very lucky girl... Dad spends $6 MILLION on his daughter's 15th birthday
Growing up, our birthdays consisted of cake, balloons and maybe a magician if we were lucky…. but if your dad is the owner of a personal injury law firm in Texas, well, that just doesn't cut it.
So, when his daughter, Maya, turned 15 last year, dad Thomas J Henry wanted to push the boat out for her Quinceanera – and spent a whopping $6 MILLION on her big night.
Turning 15 is a big deal for anyone of Mexican heritage as it signifies a teenager's transition to womanhood, and Thomas wanted to mark it with a milestone event.
Inviting 600 of her closest friends and family, Maya wore two dresses (each costing $20K) and partied with the likes of Pitbull and Nick Jonas, who both performed on the night.
The San Antonio venue was decorated with cherry trees, walls of roses and butterflies suspended from the ceiling. Her six-tiered cake was decorated with flowers and the family reportedly arrived in a police escort with nine Rolls Royces, according to the MailOnline.
Yup. Nine.
The night went off without a hitch, and Maya's best moment? Her father daughter dance.
However, Thomas' lavish bash was criticised by some who thought he spent way too much.
"You have to take certain comments with a grain of salt," he said when asked by InsideEdition how he felt about the comments.
And, in fairness to the dad who has worked with numerous charities including American Red Cross and the American Kidney, if we had the money to spend on our kids' birthday parties we'd probably want to spoil them as well.
What do you think? Too much?
