This golden retriever won Dog of the Year for the best reason
Paula Godwin took a walk during the summer and it changed her life.
She went out with her golden retriever, Todd, and her other dog Cooper in her hometown of Anthem, Arizona.
On the way home, the trio came across a rattlesnake and that means danger.
Thankfully, Tod came to the rescue as he jumped in between his owner and the rattlesnake.

The six-month-old pup successfully protected Paula, who was unaware tha anything bad was happening.
She said, “I did not see that snake. It was so camouflaged in the road. It was a grey-speckled, grey and white rattlesnake.”
While his owner escaped without any bites, Todd wasn't so lucky.
The hound had to spend 12 hours in an animal hospital, with Paula posting the story on social media and it then going viral.
Because of his heroic deed, Todd scooped the title of "Milk-Bone Dog of the Year" at the 8th Annual Streamy Awards in Beverly Hills, California.
Milk-Bone also sent him a care package of treats while he recovered.
Senior brand manager Jonathan Rodger said that "dogs deserve to be honoured in the same way humans are honoured.
He continued, "we are thrilled that fans voted for Todd to win the first ever Milk-Bone Dog of the Year Honour. Todd truly embodies the qualities associated with this honour and goes above and beyond by providing comfort and happiness to all of those around him."
Huge congratulations Todd, Paula is lucky to have a pet like you.
