This father was FIRED for attending the birth of his son
Lamar Austin, from New Hampshire, had a really good, and really bad, start to 2017.
He celebrated the New Year by welcoming his precious son into the world, but had to miss a shift in work as a result.

Lamar made the decision to miss work in order to be there to welcome baby Cainan into the world.
Th proud new father was informed by his employer that he was being let go, as a result of missing his shift.

Lamar spoke to the Concord Monitor about what happened, claiming that “the second day I told my boss, ‘My wife is still in labor,’ and he just said, ‘You’re forcing my hand, if you aren’t in work by 8 tomorrow we are going to terminate you.’”

At 1am on New Year’s Day, Lamar said, he received a text reading, “As of now, you are terminated”… bit harsh!
