This dad wrote a powerful post after his son was called a ‘monster’

When Dan Bezzant found out his son was called a monster by three older boys in his class, he was left heartbroken.

Seven-year-old Jackson was born with Treacher Collins syndrome, a condition that affects bones and facial tissue.

The youngster has already undergone surgery to rebuild his eye socket and is nearly deaf.

Sadly, Jackson has been the victim of bullying before and, while a teacher did take care of the situation, Dan decided enough is enough.

Taking to Facebook, the father honestly writes about the abuse Jackson has to deal with on a daily basis, before admitting that it is breaking his heart.

"My heart is in pieces right now," he wrote.

"My soul feels like it's ripping from my chest… this beautiful young man my son, Jackson, has to endure a constant barrage of derogatory comments and ignorance like I've never witnessed.

"He is called ugly and freak and monster on a daily basis by his peers at school."

Dan heartbreaking explains that his seven-year-old son talks about suicide and not having any friends.

Continuing in his post, the father implores parents to educate their children on special needs, to find compassion and understanding.

"Please, please take a minute and imagine if this were your child. Take a minute to educate your children about special needs. Talk to them about compassion and love for our fellow man.

"His condition is called Treacher Collins. Maybe even look it up.

"He's endured horrific surgery and has several more in the coming years.

"Anyway…I could go on…but please educate your children. Please…share this. This shouldn't be happening…to anyone."

Not surprising, Dan's post has resonated with a lot of readers,:

"I'm pretty unique myself and I feel your pain. What it really comes down to is ignorance. Parents really do need to teach their children kindness and sensitivity," wrote one commentor.

"For me, a lot of the rude questions came from the adults when I was little. 'What's wrong with her?' Was something I heard too often. I hope he finds his value and some true friends sooner than later. Hang in there."
