This cinema is hosting a special screening of Annie in honour of the late Albert Finney
We were all heartbroken to hear about the passing of actor Albert Finney last week.
The English actor stole our hearts when he starred as Daddy Warbucks in the 1982 version of the beloved family movie Annie.
In honour of the actor’s passing, one of our favourite Irish cinemas are screening the iconic movie.
The Lighthouse Cinema is hosting a special tribute screening of Annie in honour of Albert Finney on Sunday, February 17.
“We remember Albert Finney on Sunday, Feb 17th by bringing him back to the big screen in one of his most iconic roles.”
Annie follows the story of red-haired orphan Annie who dreams of escaping from the horrid orphanage run by Miss Hannigan.
Annie’s dream comes true when billionaire Oliver ‘Daddy’ Warbucks decides to let an orphan live with him for one week in a bid to boost his reputation.
She spends the most marvellous week at his mansion, but what she really wants is to be reunited with her parents.
Daddy Warbucks decides to help Annie, who is played by Aileen Quinn, and says he will offer a reward if Annie’s parents come forward, however, Miss Hannigan meddles in their plans.
"It's the hard knock life for us!"
