This 8-year old's skateboarding skills will BLOW your mind
We can barely shunt forward a few paces in a pair of roller skates without tumbling, but this EIGHT-year old girl is making waves for her incredible skateboard skills.
Sky Brown, from Miyazaki, Japan, is a skateboarding prodigy, and was recently the youngest girl ever to take part in the Vans U.S. Open Pro Series, where she competed again people twice her age.
Sky took to the board at just three-years old, when her dad Stu showed her the ropes. And she’s not the only skater in the family – her five-year old brother Ocean is hot on her heels with some mad skateboarding skills of his own.
And their parents couldn’t be prouder.
“Little feet flirting with physics, and Breaking the RULES!” Sky’s mum captioned one Instagram photo. “Sky doing what she loves most, just dancing with her skateboard again!! THIS GIRL IS ON FIRE.”
We are in awe of these kids' skills. Obviously skateboarding is their passion, and even at their tender age they are pouring their time and dedication into it. It just shows you’re never too young – or too old! – to find your passion.
And we love how Sky and Ocean’s parents are encouraging them to do their thing.
“Sky and Ocean taking a rare moment of chill and thought in a busy skate park this Friday evening,” captioned their dad on another image. “Living everyday like its Friday! I can just feel this is gonna be another rad year, always so much fun with these two monkeys always making me giggle. I can't always be there to catch them when they fall, but I will ALWAYS be there to pick them up, hold them when they cry, make them laugh, and support whatever ever they do!”
Loving that message!
