These bright yellow wristbands have FIVE simple words on them... and they're changing kids' lives

As mums, we do everything we can to protect our children from sad, distressing and upsetting things.

However, we can’t be there all the time, no matter how much we may want to be – and sometimes our kids can find themselves as victims of bullying, isolation and even anxiety, especially in school.

Thankfully, though, with the help of five very strong but simple words on a bright yellow wristband, kids all over are being given the hand of friendship.

What are these words, you ask?

“You Can Sit With Me.”

Sophie Whitehouse, creator of the You Can Sit With Me bands, has worked with children all over the world: England, Ethiopia, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.

With over 25 years teaching experience, Sophie, who is based in Australia has, unfortunately, become more aware and concerned about the number of children suffering from bullying, anxiety, depression and loneliness as a result of feeling isolated.

And that’s why she created the inspirational wristbands – to show others who may be feeling alone that they can sit beside someone who is wearing the band, without having to feel uncomfortable or uneasy.

"By wearing the You Can Sit With Me wristband you are also saying to the people in your school, sports club or community that you welcome any child of any age, race, religion or culture to sit with you.

"Maybe someday you may be that new person or someone who needs a friend, look out for a YOU CAN SIT WITH ME wristband and know there is always someone there for you."

What a simple but inspirational idea – we can see it changing the lives of children all over.
