How do two days of free, family-friendly fun sound to you?
As part of the Dublin Chinese New Year Festival, there is a Spring Festival Fair taking place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 of February at The chq.
The event will run for two days and it combines performances, workshops, storytelling, screenings, demonstrations, and games, plus tasty food stalls and special appearances by hugely popular sugar painting artist Mr Binbin Liu.

Come along and have your face painted, marvel at the Chinese dragon and lion performances, take part in an authentic Chinese tea ceremony, try your hand at Chinese calligraphy, and share your hopes for the Year of the Pig with the Wishing Tree.

Irish Pig Society Pig Pen
In 2019, we welcome the Year of the Pig and the Irish Pig Society will bring some real live piggies to the Spring Festival Fair, offering visitors an insight into a day in the life of our four-trottered friends.
Fairground Rides
The chq Building will play host to a dragon rollercoaster and carousel, offering a fun activity for young thrill-seekers and parents.
Chinese Face Painting
Join the festivities with wonderful face painting designs by Dublin Body Paint who will give your little ones a little Chinese New Year makeover – take your pick of all the zodiac animals and more.
Food & Chinese Goods
Sample dumplings and noodles from China House pulled pork from Bad Boys BBQ, Chinese street food spiral potato chips and the famous homemade noodles dishes from Xi’An Street Food.
The Fair will take place from 11am – 6pm on Saturday, February 9 and 11am – 5pm on Sunday, February 10.
