The first 'Ava' baby is born stateside to shocked, but grateful parents
32-year-old Lizzie McGee has suffered with infertility problems for a number of years.
But just last month, she gave birth to her first child, a baby boy, Jace, who has become known as the first 'Ava' baby.
In an interview with USA Today, Lizzie and her husband, Sam, reveal they had previously exhausted every avenue available to them in an effort to become pregnant.
They had been through it all, spending nearly two years and thousands of dollars trying to conceive their first child, which doctors informed the couple, could be their last.
Refusing to give up, Lizzie and Sam decided to try the Ava Women bracelet, which bears a candid resemblance to a 'fit-bit' except it's focus is fertility.
The technology works in a similar way too; wearing the Ava bracelet at night, the bracelet documents insight about your fertility, pregnancy, and your health.
Miraculously, within three months of wearing the Ava bracelet, Lizzie and Sam were overjoyed to realise they had conceived.
According to Ava, the bracelet has a number of benefits to couples who are trying to have a baby: "Ava is clinically proven to detect the very beginning of the fertile window, in real time, as it happens."
This is in opposition to ovulation predictor kits, which are designed to only detect the last day or two that are best for conceiving, or the temperature method, which only confirms ovulation after the fact, according to the CEO and co-founder.
"[It can help you] understand how your cycle impacts your health, trend analysis lets you see how your menstrual cycle impacts the way you feel throughout the month."
The bracelet also promises that couples will conceive faster as: "Couples who time intercourse accurately double their chances of conceiving in a given month."
Lizzie confirmed: "I would put on the bracelet at night, then sync it in the morning and find out exactly where I was in terms of ovulating. We had been trying for almost a year. After I started using Ava, it took three months to conceive."
"I love having the first ‘Ava Baby,’ I think it’s just so exciting, I emailed Ava before I even told my husband, I was so shocked and so grateful."
It's amazing what technology can do. So mums, would you like to try out the Ava bracelet? Let us know what you think.
