The Excitable Edgar picture book is going to be at the top of every Christmas list
Excitable Edgar stole our hearts when this year's John Lewis advert aired last week. The loveable dragon has left us feeling awfully merry and now we're even more excited about Christmas than ever before.
One thing we'll certainly be buying for the kids is an Excitable Edgar picture book.
The charming book is bound to make Christmas morning that little bit more magical.
Nosy Crow has teamed up with John Lewis & Partners and Waitrose & Partners to create a children’s picture book inspired by this year’s Christmas advert. A heart-warming tale of true friendship and the joy of giving, Excitable Edgar coincides with the release of the first-ever joint Christmas advert by these two retailers.
Edgar, an adorable young dragon, is so excited about Christmas that he cannot control the flames from his mouth. He even burns the village Christmas tree, dampening everyone’s Christmas spirit.
But when his best friend Ava gives him a thoughtful gift just right for an excitable dragon, he realises how much she cares for him.
Beautifully told with plenty of Christmas illustrations, this is the perfect book for sharing on a frosty winter evening.
Kate Wilson, Nosy Crow’s Managing Director, comments: “It’s always amazing for us to finally see the advert and to see the reaction to it! This one feels like such a winner: so child-friendly, funny and sweet.
"We’re really proud to be involved, to work with the fantastic teams at John Lewis and Waitrose and, together with our wonderfully speedy illustrator, Jo, to rise to the creative challenge of making a really satisfying picture book."
Excitable Edgar is written by by Lucy Feather and illustrated by Jo Lindley.
