The AMAZING reason this man paid $3,000 for a hot dog

A US mum who was selling hotdogs for $3 a go to raise money to buy her son a wheelchair got and incredible surprise.

Johanna Hayes’ son 11-year old son Dylan, has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the most severe form of the condition.

During the sizzle, one man bought five hot dogs for $3 dollars each, but when he paid for the sixth, she got the shock of her life.

Instead of paying her $3, Ashley Steers handed her an envelope that contained $3,000. Unbeknownst to Johanna, her friends had raised the money, and wanted to give it to her this way as they knew she would be too proud to accept it from them.

“I had this envelope waved in my face," Johanna told 3AW radio. “It was a bunch of my childhood friends that had all put in together over the space of a week and that was their contribution towards getting my little man back in the community.”

And according to Ashley, it was a “special moment”.

“The group collectively were all McDonald's employees back in the day, and I got to know them about 20 years ago,” he said.

“We are all old friends. And I've known Dylan since he was born. Johanna is not one to ask for help but we thought if we hid it in an envelope she'd take it.

“So I was up to number five or six … it was close to the end of the day and the market was wrapping up. I ordered it and presented the envelope to her. She was so overwhelmed.”

Amazing! We’re not crying, you’re crying!
