That parenting moment when you go off the rails (way off) and then cry
Jamie Primak Sullivan, publicist, producer, writer and creator of #cawfeetawk (a YouTube channel where she shares her daily experiences and struggles), recently spoke about a topic that will strike home for many mums.
In her funny and frank video, she discusses the importance of finding a place where you feel safe when life gets too much.
Jamie talks about the day before when she had to have a time-out in the closet because she was "at her breaking point".
The mum highlights how important it is to find a small, safe place to take shelter and to never feel bad about it.
She says that everybody has moments when they feel like they are not good enough, when they feel like they are not doing enough, when they can't trust their own behaviour or when they feel like they are losing to their own emotions.
It is at these times when mums need to focus on self-care, even if it is only for a few minutes.
She says people put too much pressure on themselves to be perfect and to raise perfect children.
The mum-of-three says we need a time out sometimes and that it's OK.
"In your life, whatever is going on, whatever storm you are in the middle of, no matter how temporary – because no storm lasts forever – no matter how temporary, you need to seek shelter," Jamie beautifully explains.
"Do it. Take care of you."
We don't now about you, but we think her honesty is refreshing!
