Teenager single-handedly saves family bakery with just one tweet
Like most 18-year-olds, Jackie Garza spends a lot of time on Twitter.
But she never suspected that a single tweet could change her family's life.
Her father, who came to America as a teenager, had always dreamed of owning his own bakery.
HEY YALL MY DAD HAS A LITTLE PANADERIA/ RESTAURANT. HE MAKES ALL OF THE PAN DULCE HIMSELF. HE BEEN THINKING ABOUT CLOSING BUT I CANT LET THAT HAPPEN, SPRED THE WORD 1 RT COULD BRING IN A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER! LA CASA BAKERY AND CAFE 1002 HOGAN STREET 77009!! pic.twitter.com/cc2fEDwuyB

Two years ago, that dream became a reality and he opened a Mexican bakery and cafe in Houston, Texas.
Unfortunately though, Hurricane Harvey drove a lot of their clientele away. So much so, that Mr Garza considered selling the bakery.

Jackie, in a last ditch attempt to save her father's dream, tweeted a video of him working at the bakery saying:
"My dad has a little panaderia. He's been thinking about closing but I can't let that happen. Spread the word. One retweet could bring in a potential customer."
The tweet, much to the Garza's surprise, has had over 60,000 retweets in matter of days and nearly as many likes and comments.
Update: told my dad about all the support he's been getting. He got excited so we're stocking up!! @restaurantdepot pic.twitter.com/81N4LgldNX

"He told my mom he was thinking about selling, and he even had an offer,"Jackie told ABC News. "I begged him not to sell, to wait for me to get through college and then make me a part owner."
Tragically, the Garzas had actually begun to throw out the goods that end of the day because no one was buying them.
"I know all the hard work my parents put into this. They work from early in the morning until late at night, even though we close at 5 p.m," Jackie continued. "The quality of the food and the authenticity of it is amazing."

Mr. Garza makes all the goods himself from scratch using old family recipes.
The authentic Mexican food has been getting great responses from the tweeters that showed up to support the restaurant:
