'Tears in my eyes': Mum sends moving note to stranger who bought her coffee
We often underestimate the power of random acts of kindness. Something as simple as buying a stranger a cup of coffee can make the world of a difference and this mum proved just that.
One mum penned an emotional note to a stranger who bought her a cup of coffee in Starbucks. A cup of coffee only costs us a few quid, a sum of money you certainly wouldn’t miss, but the kind gesture meant the world to this mum.
She explained to the teenager that she had been going through such a harrowing time as of late. “I rarely go to Starbucks and treat myself, but the last couple months have been a bit of a struggle. My father passed away and he was my babysitter.”
The mum shared that her family have been going through quite a rocky period. Her babysitter had called in sick so she had no choice but to take time off work to take care of the kids.
“I decided to buy my kids breakfast and get myself coffee with total guilt because I am going to become a stay-at-home mom for a while.”
The woman admitted she wasn’t emotionally or financially ready for this change in her life.
Yesterday I bought coffee for the lady behind me at Starbucks.. later in the day I found this is my mailbox. Small acts can make a big difference folks, spread some kindness. pic.twitter.com/awNi4LSGJq

“I cried when I found out you were so sweet to buy my coffee,” she wrote.
It turns out the two women actually live a few doors down from one another, so the mum just had to thank her.
“I felt it necessary for you to know what you did for me was more than just a coffee. It was something that has turned my whole day around, put tears in my eyes and a smile on my face.”
“I feel so grateful. Thank you,” the mum added.
This letter proves that random acts of kindness can change someone’s entire day. Never underestimate the power of being generous and loving. You never know how much someone might need a pick me up.
