Talk about coincidence: woman spots fiancée in the back of childhood photo
We adore a great love story, and it's a well known saying that you'll cross paths at least once with your future soul mate before actually meeting them.
But after growing up thousands of miles apart, in London and Kosvo, Verona Koliqi and Mirand Buzaku, were not expecting to find that they had met before.
Until one day, the newly engaged couple were looking at Koliqi's old family photos:
Speaking to Yahoo Life, Koliqi said that the picture of the family holiday in Montenegro was forwarded to her by her cousin.
“My cousin found this photo on her computer, and she sent it over to me on my phone to laugh about how we looked when we were younger."
Her fiancee began to poke fun of her for her "tomboy look" before noticing another kid in the background.
He said, ‘Hold up, I think that’s me!’ ” Koliqi recalled. “We both looked at each other and said, ‘No way, that can’t be true.'”
Buzaku said that he remembered that holiday, from the yellow float right down to his white T-shirt. After talking to other family members he confirmed that not only had they been at the same holiday resort as children, but he'd photobombed his future wife.
While Koliqi's family are also from Kosovo, she was raised in the U.K, only returning in 2016, where the pair crossed paths for the second time.
A year later, they got engaged at a resort in Turkey.
“I had no clue he was going to propose to me," Koliqi said. "Because in our country’s tradition, engagements are planned and have to be agreed by both beforehand.”
If that's not meant to be we don't know what is!
