'Sweet soul' reminds Mum why some parenting days are better than others
Parenting is hard work, it can be mentally exhausting but it has the greatest rewards you could hope for.
Sometimes we question that fact though, and who can blame us?
From sleepless nights to picking 'poop' off the floor it's an endless list of nauseating chores.
But then there's this…
Brea Schmidt took time out her day to remind all us parents of the amazing things our children do which melt our hearts.
The Thinking Branch mum explained: "Yesterday my sweet-soul first born asked to rock her sister to sleep for her afternoon nap, and the baby loves her so much she played right along."
"I watched from the doorway as my daughter made up her own lullaby that consisted of nothing but the words 'I love you' in the lyrics. She petted her hair like I do all of my kids when I am trying to get them sleep-ready. She kissed her head over and over."
And if that isn't enough to make you weak, the toddler just wanted to cuddle her baby sister forever.
"I asked my daughter if she wanted me to put the baby in the crib. She said, 'No, Mummy. I'll sit here with her until she wakes up. I want her to feel loved'."
Brea admits: "Some parenting days are brutal, man. But a lot of them are pretty beautiful too."
We can't cope with how beautiful this is. Remember mums, when times are tough – this is what gets us through.
