Stuck in the house? We have the BEST snow day activities
Well guys, the Beast from the East has finally landed, and it looks like we'll be snowed in for the next day or so.
Schools across the country have closed their doors, which means one thing- the kids are at home.
And while they might be delighted with this news, parents can be left wondering how to keep them occupied ALL DAMN DAY.
Well worry not, because we have the ultimate list of snow day activities to stave off that cabin fever.
1. Simply Sledding
Don't have a ready-made sled in the garage? Well worry not because making a functional sledge is halt the fun. Get a thick piece of cardboard, some duct tape and a bin bag and set your little engineers to work!
Other house hold items that make great sleighs include plastic box lids, Styrofoam and toilet seats (in only if you happen to have a spare one lying around!). For tips on constructing a great homemade sled see here.
2. Snow art extravaganza
Add water to a third full bottle of paint and send the kids out to create colourful snow creations. Adding paint into a spray can, squirt bottle or water gun also make fantastic paint equipment. Why not built a snowman and have the kids paint on some clothes and a funny face?
3. Snow cone coolness
An American delicacy, snow cones are super easy and fun to make. Simply get some freshly fallen snow, add it to a cup and add lemon juice, sugar and food colouring. Refreshing AND delicious!
4. Melt-worthy hot chocolate
No better way to warm up than with a hot chocolate feast. Why not make it for scratch with the help of the little ones? Add whipped cream and marshmallows for the ultimate choccy-treat.

5. Get camping
Not outside obviously. Get blankets, pillow and set up a cosy tent in the living room. Switch off all the lights, get torches and curl up for a story time with a twist.
6. Great kiddie bake off
Cookies, buns, cakes, get your little chefs to bake up a storm in the the kitchen. The best way to create some yummy treats to go with that post- snow ball fight hot chocolate!
7. Science time
Can't bring the kids to school, bring school to the kids! Youtube is full of fun and simple science experiments for kids, that can be done using common household items.
8. Artsy Farty
Cut out pictures for used magazines to create collages, print off pictures to be coloured in, do a bit of finger painting, there's so much room for possibilities!
