Stepdad receives a gift from his stepdaughter, but he's left momentarily confused...

Emery Fields had a very special gift for her stepdad on Christmas morning.

She wanted to surprise him with something he would never forget, and we think she may have hit the nail on the head.

Sitting in his pyjamas, she hands him a parcel wrapped in blue paper.

But when he opens it he is quite confused, not understanding what the official looking papers are, continuously asking:

“What is this, what is that?”

Before the stepdad eventually called out: “Is that real? Is this from you? This isn’t a gag?”

Emery’s stepdad was so shocked he didn’t know what to say as he unfolded adult adoption papers!

The young woman states he doesn’t have to go through with the adoption if he doesn’t want to, but he’s just blown away.

Delightfully accepting, giving his new daughter a hug, he exclaims:

“I’m more nervous about this than when I proposed to your mum.”

We ‘re so emotional watching this, he’ll officially be walking her down that aisle now!
