Star finally addresses pregnancy rumours on Twitter

She found herself at the centre of pregnancy rumours just last month, and remained tight-lipped at the time.

However, singer Katy Perry has finally broken her silence, after the US version of OK! magazine retracted its claims that she was expecting her first child.

The publication ran a front-page story on the Roar singer, alleging that not only was she pregnant with on-off boyfriend John Mayer’s child, but that they were planning a secret wedding.

OK! took to Twitter to retract the claims and apologise, writing: “We wrongly stated that Katy Perry was pregnant and that she was planning a wedding. We acknowledge Ms Perry is not pregnant and not planning a wedding. We regret the mistake and sincerely apologise to Ms Perry for publishing the error.”

They also went on to apologise for taking the cover photos, which it emerged were taken with a long lens while she was having a private function at her home.

While sources close to Katy had previously rubbished the rumours, her own tweet showed that she refused to be drawn on the topic.

She tweeted: “REMEMBER these magazine are fiction designed for entertainment. NO ONE speaks for me. Instead let the previous tweets speak for themselves.”

Well, that certainly puts an end to the rumours.
