Staff rush to help mum after she gives birth to 'purple' baby in store
When staff at El Parian Neighbourhood Market in California went into work the day after Christmas, they weren't expecting to end up helping a woman who suddenly gave birth in their store.
Co-owner of the shop, Issamar Sepulveda took to Facebook to explain what happened, revealing the little boy was purple.
"She's one of our costumers, her name is Erica,[sic]" Issamar explained.
"She just had a baby boy inside of our store! I'm very proud of El Parian's team. Our cashier was calling 911, butcher came to hold the baby, cook found [scissors] and I cut the baby's cord."
Admitting it was pretty chaotic, the shop owner, revealed that she was worried when the she looked at the baby and realised he was purple.
Fearing for his health, Issamar informed the dispatcher of the strange colour, only to be told that it was a sign the little boy was cold – so she grabbed two blankets.
"Everything happened so quickly however, time felt eternal."
Following the birth, Issamar set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for Erica.
What an incredible story to tell the little boy when he's older.
