'So thankful': Student surprises janitor with the sweetest gift
There are just genuinely good people out there and stories like these are important because it gives them the recognition they deserve.
A high school student gave his janitor the most thoughtful present and the touching video is getting a lot of attention on social media.
Tristan McAlister is a 17-year-old student at Stafford High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia and he has become friends with his janitor, 31-year-old Angel Echevarria.
Their backgrounds could not be more different – Angel was homeless for four years.
I’ve known Angel for 2 years now and you won’t find a person who appreciates and smiles more than this guy I asked him what shoes should I buy and he picked out Jordan 8s and I asked if he had a pair and he said “no I have 4 kids, I can’t shop for myself” so today I surprised him pic.twitter.com/N1hJpRpCgl

Tristan learned that, because of his four children, he couldn't afford to buy things for himself so Tristan decided to get him a little gift.
Tristan tweeted the video and said, "I've known Angel for 2 years now and you won't find a person who appreciates and smiles more than this guy.''
He continued, "I asked him what shoes should I buy and he picked out Jordan 8s and I asked if he had a pair and he said 'no I have 4 kids, I can't shop for myself' so today I surprised him.''
Great job mom and dad! We're all better off in this world when parents put out this type of quality product

Tristan said that he only recorded the video because his mum wanted to see Angel's reaction – it was never expected to go viral!
He said. "I'm so thankful to have met him. He gives me a different perspective on life."
What a fantastic young man – his parents should be proud.
