'So moved': These men do a selfless act for unwell neighbour every day
We all try to be the best neighbours that we can be, but some people go above and beyond for their community.
One such person is Keith Pugmire, who has been doing a amazing deed for one of his neighbours for a decade.
Every night for the past ten years, the men in Sandy, Utah have been taking turns to make sure Kathy Felt gets into bed safely and to help her get comfortable.
Kathy suffers from multiple sclerosis and has slowly lost control of her motor functions.
The disease progressed and she was no longer able to get out of bed in the morning.
As it was beginning to seem like Kathy would have to go into a nursing home, her kind neighbours decided to step in.
Keith rounded up 60 men in the neighbourhood to volunteer to help – and Kathy was overwhelmed with happiness.
She said, "I cried, just like now. I was so moved. This is my miracle."
Keith drew up a rota so there would always be two men at Kathy's house in the evening to lift her out of the wheelchair and into bed.
Her son arrives in the morning to take care of her throughout the day.
One neighbour who helps is John Keller, who says the act of lifting Kathy has made him a profoundly better person.
This should serve as a reminder to us all that helping others can help ourselves and that sometimes something that might seem like a burden is a blessing in disguise.
