'Pumpkin butts' are trending and we're seriously conflicted

The latest Instagram trend has us tearing up with cuteness but leaving us confused too.

The hashtag 'pumpkin butts' is currently trending, and many parents have jumped on the bandwagon, posting pictures of their tots.

Photographs show babies with pumpkins drawn onto their butts, while others will show a naked baby, on all fours, with a pumpkin held over their behind.

Some have displayed kids sitting in carved out pumpkins with just a cap or hair band on their head.

However, the posts have been dividing many parents, with some believing these pictures should not be shared online, others believing it's harmless.

Is it any different than posting a snap of your tot in the bath or wearing just a nappy though?

We guess the issue is with privacy settings and the fact when we post on the internet it will last forever; again though, is it not each to their own?

There's a pretty good chance we'll be trying out these adorable snaps at home, but we'll probably keep them just for ourselves (and maybe take them out on our kid's 18th birthday…).

What do you think of the latest trend? Is it too exposing or is it just cuteness overload?
