'Powerful and heartbreaking': Jools Oliver opens up about miscarriage
Jools Oliver has spoken out about her heartbreaking baby loss.
The mum-of-five posted an image to Instagram, paying tribute Elle Wright, who wrote the soon-to-be-published book, Ask Me His Name, after losing her son Teddy shortly after giving birth.
She captioned the post, "thank you so much, Elle, for your wonderful book so excited to get to read it all over again. I honestly read it from start to finish in a day (normally impossible for me) truly a beautiful, powerful, heartbreaking and thought-provoking read. Elle, you have done little Teddy proud, what an incredible Mum you are."
The book is clearly close to Jools' heart as well as with her followers, who were quick to comment how much it helped them as well as their own stories.
One wrote how it struck a chord with her when she said, ''I lost 3 babies through a miscarriage but was lucky enough to have 2 girls and eventually a delightful boy when I was 42 years old. That boy, in particular, saved me (and hubby) bringing so much joy. I suppose if I hadn't lost 2 of the babies we wouldn't have had him. Funny how it works out.''
Another was also candid about her loss.
She wrote, ''our daughter Milla passed away 72 days after she was born premature 28+3. The pain I feel every day is something I cannot share with a lot of people. Her sisters are my light and sunshine and the love I still feel from Milla and of course, her sisters let me survive and be a happy mum.''
"Sending lots of love to all mothers who have lost a baby," another said.
Jools revealed in May that she had lost two babies when she posted on Instagram to celebrate International Day of the Midwife.
The 42-year-old posted a picture of herself and baby River, writing, ''in celebration of International Day of the Midwife. Highlighting the magnificent and vital role that midwives play in bringing our babies into the world. We have been so lucky to have been blessed with the most wonderful midwives for each of our 5 children and the 2 little angels we lost."
Well done Jools on highlighting an important topic for so many parents, and for doing it so beautifully.
