One parent reveals the things we REALLY want to say to our children but don't
There's a long list of things which we would love to say to our children if only they were that little bit older.
When they're naughty or screaming 'mam' ten million times in one day, you just want to speak your mind – instead you play nice.
You need to demonstrate the beauty of patience to your children, as some day they are going to need to use theirs.
But we never speak about the things we'd like to say, not out loud, we think about it in our heads all the time instead.
Krechelle Carter has turned the perception that you should not openly speak of this on it's head when she posted a note to Facebook.
The mum-of-six realises the reason parents don't say these things to their kids is because they're good parents, but it still amuses her to know what can occur in your thoughts.
"Dear children, please stop talking, your voice is annoying to me and I can't seem to ever please you."
"You're like a tiny angry dictator who makes poor choices we have to fix all the time while you just move on with your life. […] I try my hardest but all you care about is where the next chocolate milk is coming from or who just farted."
Mum speaks of the hours she spends brushing her kids hair, tidying their rooms, and constantly having to lose when playing monopoly even though she is incredibly competitive at the game.
But she does this because, obviously, she really likes her children, even though: "All you do is ask to go to your grandparents; constantly."
From cutting crusts off sandwiches to adhering to diet standards per child, and reading six bed time stories, there is nothing sacred when it comes to reality and Krechelle would like nothing more than to let slip to her kids the truth.
"True loves aren’t found and declared in a day and marriage is f**king hard work. Bet ya Rapunzel has some bloody princess blog somewhere that is all about how her prince husband doesn’t come home on Fridays after work…"
"You’re not all bad you do smell like some version of heaven right on the top of your head. Except for when you’ve done a massive poo from last nights bolognaise and then the whole house smells like some bad version of onion poo."
While it's nice to know that our kids love us so much they call every five seconds, often it would be a nice feeling if they called Dad just as much, so that we could perhaps sit on the couch and have a hot coffee instead of a cold one.
Preferably one with no jumper stains from you jumping on the couch the moment we sit down, but Krechelle is confused, because she has been told she should appreciate these moments.
"They say to 'appreciate it' and don’t ever be 'ungrateful'. I'm not. I promise. I just haven’t showered today and I would really like to shower for a good forty-five minutes you know and really get into all those spots I’ve been missing for the last seven years."
"I would just like to say how much I appreciate these soul sucking little assho**s. Especially for my empty tit bags. And unwashed places. You guys are my whole wide world. And I wouldn’t have it any other way."
"Well; its not like I’ve got a f**king choice."
But just like Krechelle and every other mama, what we really say is: "Love you sweetheart see you in the morning."
However the mum-of-six does leave us with some food for thought; she's kidding, or is she?
