‘No matter what’: This ad about girls playing sports is incredibly inspirational
Serena Williams gave birth to her first child eight months ago, but she already has a pretty incredible message for her daughter, Alexis Olympia.
A world-class tennis star – she is the only player (male and female) to win 10+ grand slam titles in TWO separate decades – this superstar understands just how much of a positive impact sports can have on people, particularly girls.
And she wants to make everyone else aware of just how important it is, something she does so beautifully in a new ad for Gaterade.
In the commercial, Serena can be seen cuddling her baby as she talks to her about the power of sports.
“Baby girl, I won’t mind if you play tennis badly,” the mum starts off by saying.
“I won’t mind if you choose to never pick up a racket.
"But I beg you, in this game of life, please keep playing no matter what.”
There are so many reasons to quit, but even more to keep playing. Even if you don’t go pro, sports can teach you so much. So keep playing. #sistersinsweat #gatoradepartner @gatorade pic.twitter.com/ejVzVjDvpR

As the ad highlights, it’s not about winning Grand Slams or fancy titles, but rather what one can LEARN from playing: to be strong, the power and grace of your body, how to move and how to work together.
"Whether your bond is blood or ball – you’ll find sisters in sweat."
This ad is quite simply beautiful, and the message is something that should be spread far and wide.
