'My son is mainly non-verbal and has never said those words before'
Dad of one Travis Saunders recently shared an incredibly special moment on his Facebook page regarding his young son, and it’s heartwarming.
Travis’ eight-year-old son Patch has autism, and ever since he was born the father has been trying to empower people all over the world in embracing autism.
He recently took to Facebook to share a wonderful moment between him and his son, and we are bawling reading it!
“Success comes in many different forms and this may be the greatest example in my life to date,” Travis wrote.
“It's not work related and it has nothing to do with a project that I'm working on or a marathon I'm running. It has everything to do with being a dad.”
Continuing, the father went on to explain that while he was “acting a little mischievous” his non-verbal son told him he was funny, saying two words – “you’re funny” – that he had never said before.
“I can't express how amazing that makes me feel as my son is mainly non-verbal and has never said those words before and certainly never EVER made a comment about something we were doing together [sic]," the father-of-one said.
“And let's face it I'm not funny but I'm a dad and most of them think they're funny, so why can't I?”
Such an inspiring post, it’s not surprising everyone was quick to point out just how much of an amazing dad Travis is.
“How wonderful is this? Truly people should never use the 'never' word. Love this very special father and son moment, Trav,” wrote one.
While another said: “Out of the mouths of babes – it's always, always honest and non-judgemental!”
