Mum's breastfeeding photo is fierce and we think she's a superstar
Hein Koh hit back at suggestions that female artists are held back creatively when they become mothers.
The Stateside mum-of-two made her point known in the most powerful way she could, and we're pretty sure the snap speaks for itself.
Breastfeeding her five-week-old twins while catching up on work, the mum shows how resilient mothers really are, and her adjoining caption is fierce.
Despite the sleep deprivation and around the clock breastfeeding, Hein is adamant her creativity expanded when she became a mum.
"Becoming a mum (of twins no less) has personally helped me become a better artist – I learned to be extremely efficient with my time, prioritise what's important and let go of the rest."
Hein also reaffirms she can now multitask 'like a champ': "I learned to function on very little sleep, and out of the chaos, insanity and even torture at times, a flood of new emotions entered into my work, becoming more interesting and layered as a result."
The artist mum is far from suggesting that people with children are better artists, just as she's not counting one artist's bad experience as gospel for every artist out there.
The candid snap taken by her husband is a portrait of inspiration for expectant mothers who are deliberating over their working status.
We think the mum-of-two is a perfect example and role model for aspiring artists.
Each to their own – here's hoping you're loving this supermums resilience as much as us.
