Mum worries about what people will think of the latest addition to the family
Jessica Roberts is a mum-of-six who has her hands full on a daily basis.
Between being a full time mum, home-schooling her children, and finding the time to write for her blog, we cannot fathom where she gets her energy.
Nonetheless, being a cancer survivor, we have a feeling Jessica knows all too well how life is too short not to enjoy it.
But her latest post had us thinking; while we also realise it had mum a little worried at the beginning.
Jessica, her husband, Don, and family have some pretty big news to share – they're about to add another Roberts to the clan, Mum's seventh baby!
Yes – you read that right, her SEVENTH child.
But the mum-of-six was worried; worried about what other people would think of her ever expanding brood.
However, following a frightening episode Jessica realised she should celebrate; celebrate the life that is growing inside her because there was a chance the little heart beating on the monitor could become lifeless.
"I had spent weeks worrying about the reaction that people would have for yet another pregnancy. We get a lot of annoying (not funny) teasing and jokes about our family size. People try to do it 'innocently' but they are still hurtful."
"But after this whole scare with losing the pregnancy, I decided that it’s not fair to this precious life not to be celebrated, even when there are people out there who want to joke about this child’s existence."
Celebrating July fourth with the family, Jessica had a scare, she lost a lot of blood, suspecting she was miscarrying the baby growing inside her.
Mum decided it wouldn't be fair not to celebrate: "So, I’m embracing it and celebrating this new life that we are all so excited about, especially because we never know how long we will have with this baby."
"Having a big family is not for everyone, but even though it is overwhelming and exhausting at times, we love our big family and all the fun things that come with it."
We think this family is absolutely amazing, and Jessica should 100 per cent celebrate every moment.
