Mum-to-be in shock after a woman at the grocery store commented on her bump size
There is one rule when it comes to talking to pregnant women: don't comment on their bump size.
Whether it's comes from a good place or not, the last thing any mum-to-be needs to hear is their bump is very small or too big.
No woman has the same size belly when they are expecting.
Even if they are due on the same day and from the same family. So no one (unless you are a doctor of course) is qualified to to say anything. Like at all.
However, not everyone pays heed to this unwritten rule, and one mum took to Reddit to vent after she was stopped by stranger while grocery shopping.
"I really wish you had ended on the note that I looked cute in my dress with my baby belly," brierpatchkid wrote in a post captioned 'To the Lady at the Grocery Store'.
"I have 7-ish weeks left and have been feeling particularly big and pregnant today. You made your initial comment and then I had a glow-y, motherly feeling come over me for one shining moment."
Sadly however, this nice feeling was short-lived for this mum, who was left feeling self-conscious about her body after the little chat.
"I could almost get past the fact a stranger was talking to me," she continued.
"It was dashed when you wondered aloud if it should technically be 'babies belly' because I was surely having twins.
"Nope. Having just one. Thanks for that though."
But this mum is certainly not alone, and others were quick to share their stories:
