Mum starts recording son when Grandpa says he has to go - and we are so glad she did

This is such a gorgeous and sweet video! 

We all know just how special the bond between grandparents and their grandchildren is.

An instant connection; the love between them is clear and raw to see.

And this couldn't be more obvious than in a video posted to YouTube by mum Laura Matthews Newkirk of the relationship between her son, Parker, and his grandpa, Elbert Matthews.

They have a beautiful bond that would melt even the coldest of hearts.

Laura decided to record her son's reaction to her father leaving so that she will always be able to treasure the love the two have for each other. 

In the caption under the video, Laura explains: "Parker is extremely attached to his grandpa and it's a disaster any time Grandpa has to leave.

"He doesn't act like this with anyone else, just his grandpa (Elbert Matthews).

"It doesn't matter if my dad sneaks away when Parker isn't looking, or if my dad does a quick bye and then leaves.

"No matter what, Parker gets upset when he realises it's time for Grandpa to leave. They have such a special bond."

A beautiful video, we're sure Parker will be delighted to be able to see this when he's older.
