Mum reveals she was 'ashamed' about bottle-feeding her baby so she hid the formula

Being a mum is hard enough without having to deal with unnecessary judgement or comments from everyone around her.

Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to one mum when she developed mastitis and had to stop breastfeeding.

“Breastfeeding is really hard,” mum-of-three Emily Maynard said in an interview with People.

“I breastfed Ricki (11), I breastfed Jennings (22-months-old) for a while and then Gibson (7-months-old), it’s so hard with other kids running around. And then I got mastitis which is like the worst, worse than childbirth I feel like.”

However, despite having no reason to feel bad about her decision to move on from breastfeeding, Emily admits that she felt guilty she had stop.

“I didn’t want to tell anybody that I quit. I was trying to hide formula,” she continued.

“I saw all of these beautiful breastfeeding pictures, I don’t know if I would post a picture like that, but I would love the option. I wanted to so bad.”

Sadly, we're sure Emily is not the only one to feel this way, and it is important that we as mums look out for each other.
