Mum posts unedited photo of her tummy to help mums accept their bodies
Kimberly Henderson is a mum-of-four who receives daily compliments about her 'perfect' body, even after having children.
But the mum admits that she too struggled with accepting her body as before she had given birth, she used to be the proud owner of six-pack abs.
However, even though Kimberly spends time working out each week, she insists:
"Even though I work out I know it's not going to make my loose skin tight.. Or my stretch marks disappear ever."
But that's not what its about for Kimberly.
The mum-of-four tells us that for a long time she struggled to come to terms with her postpartum body as people her age were 'flawless', however, she overcame her battle because of her children.
"Everyday I get to wake up to four beautiful smiling faces and I'm reminded that they are worth this flabby belly and they are worth these stretch marks."
"I still wear a bikini because being a mother makes me feel beautiful.. Not having a flat tummy."
Most importantly though, Kimberly exclaims that her post isn't for attention or to claim that she is worse off than anyone else, she simply wants to reminds mums of something significant:
"I'm not trying to say I have it worse than anyone else or bad or anything like that just reminding you guys.. That your body is beautiful…"
"BECAUSE we ARE mums and we ARE superheroes and we freakin' ROCK and in my opinion that is sexier than any six pack!"
And we couldn't agree more with this statement or Kimberly – great to see common sense prevail.
