Mum pens heartbreaking post after her baby almost drowns

Siobhan Rennie is a mum-of-two and the voice behind the MeOhMyMum blog. 

This week Siobhan shared a heartfelt message about something awful that happened to her, as a warning to her fellow mums.

 

YAY – 30K!!! Holy heck, how did that happen?! Whatever your reason for following, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We love this little community so much. I never set out to be a 'mummy blogger', that's for sure. Pretty sure too many are in it for the 'fame'  I just wanted to write about my experiences. But I love what we've grown into. "Tonight, I put Harry and Aoife in the bath together, played with them for a bit, then remembered I had washing to put away. So I went around the corner just a few metres to hang up one of my husband's shirts."

 

TRUTH… // I had big plans today to sort the kids rooms out a bit and take some pretty-ish pics of all three of us (which is a mission I like to challenge myself to from time to time. BUT, these two had other ideas. They played 'poo tag' for hours. One then the other. Explosions galore. It was seriously like they ganged up on me. Then Harry wouldn't nap at lunch… I was clinging onto that nap for dear life, looks like we're dropping it So, no pretty pic (and no blog tonight, I was planning on getting that done too). Just Aoife with a bogey hanging out her nose, Harry stuffing his face with the "cake" (i.e the banana muffins we make that have hidden vege and are made with almond butter and coconut oil, the ONLY way to get vege in him). That's mum life right there (it's still pretty to me). Oh and I know I have loads of comments and Snaps to get back to! My bad. "I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary, just a tiny bit of splashing" she continued in the heartfelt post on Instagram. 

 

BLOGGED: 'Would I recommend having two babies under 18 months or 2?… // Our two babes are 17 months apart. This was us on our first morning at home together as an awesome foursome, just after A was born  I had two under 17 months at home with me, then two under 2 and now two under 2.5. I get asked a lot of questions. Many people say “Wow, how do you do it?” or "Gee, that’s close” (to which I think “no shit!” in my head!  "Did you plan it?” (my personal fave – and yes we did, FYI!). Siobhan goes on to describe the ordeal that followed: "I went back to the bathroom maybe 15-30 seconds later (I really have no idea, it was very quick) and Aoife was under water flailing around."

Earlier this evening in happier times… Because right now Harry is refusing to sleep and making so much noise that Aoife keeps waking up – after not eating A SINGLE BITE of the five dinner options I prepared for him (I give the F up!!!)  And I have work that's just not getting done because I'll be sitting here rocking Aoife for hours. Sigh. Mum life hey. But a huge thanks to @lego for our awesome new Duplo set, Harry was literally gob smacked (and that's saying something .
