Mum-of-four documents her children’s lives without technology, and we couldn’t be more jealous
Niki Boon took on a new photography project which depicts her children’s lives without technology.
The series called ‘Childhood in the Raw’ contains some of the most stunning photographs we have seen yet.
Boon and her partner decided to educate their children at home in an alternative fashion, and that was how the black and white series came about.
Living in a rural setting, the couple along with their four little ones have become used to living TV and electronic device free.
But it hasn’t been an easy transition, with many friends having their reservations about the decision.
Niki stated: “In the beginning, the photos served as a visual document, to record things that the children were doing in a day, to reassure both others and ourselves that there was learning taking place,” the mum explained.
Niki hopes her children will look back on their experience one day with fond memories, and most importantly smile, saying:
“Like all parents, we would love our children to be strong in who they are, confident, free thinkers, proactive, independent, resilient, empathetic and happy.”
This photo series has us reliving our childhoods, and we have to say, there's nothing wrong with a technology-free break.
