Mum goes 'shopping' but her husband knows the code
Jill Elliott Vardaman likes to go to her local Walgreens to shop.
But sometimes it's not really about the shopping, it's more about the stroll.
You see a number of years ago the mum decided to become a stay-at-home mum, and it was then she realised Walgreens was to become her life-saver.
Often in the evenings her husband would call on the way home from work, kindly offering to pick up whatever is needed for the home.
But Jill always has other ideas, because it is her that needs to make the trip to the store.
Not to pick up anything in particular but to make sure that she regains her sanity.
Jill revealed: "My dear husband would call me coming home from work and say, 'Hey, do you need me to pick anything up?' I'd say, 'No, I need to run to Walgreens'."
"I need to count toothpaste, I need to read every greeting card, I basically need to run away from home."
"I always promise to come back."
Jill's husband knows that going to the store is in fact code for having a bad or particularly rough day, and needing to get away for a few hours.
"So for the last nine plus years, that has been code in our house for if I've had a bad day."
In the video posted to the mum's Facebook, she even explains that sometimes there isn't a store big enough that she can escape to.
"So, I have about 20 more minutes before I have to go home, because time-out for a kid is a minute for every year that they are."
"So, my daughter is seven, she gets seven minutes of time-out, but I'm 40, so I get 40-minutes of time-out."
Picking up plenty of chocolate to help her through the day, the mum is content that her husband understands her predicament, and is supportive of her choice for space.
We're so on board with this idea, getting away for a few minutes AND getting to have copious amounts of chocolate – WINNING!
