Mum builds a house from scratch for her two sons so they can have a home
Charlotte Sapwell is a 27-year-old who has conquered some serious milestones in life.
The young woman has been married, given birth to two sons, divorced and is now building her own home.
The mum-of-two was left devastated when her youngest son Theo was just five-weeks-old.
Charlotte’s husband wanted to leave family life, leaving Charlotte and her two boys to move out of the family home.
The now family-of-three uprooted to rented accommodation, nonetheless a short time later her ex-husband downgraded to a job with less pay, meaning he could no longer pay the family’s rental.
Leaving Charlotte in a bind; the mum and her two boys had to move back in with her parents, with Charlotte spending many nights sleeping on the couch, allowing her boys a bed.
But three months ago, when her grandfather suggested building a house on her parent’s property, who knew Charlotte was going to begin building her own house, from scratch?
Admitting that she failed woodwork in school, Charlotte certainly didn’t believe she was capable; until she got to work that is.
Charlotte’s grandfather, Rob, has a lot of experience in building houses during his lifetime, therefore guiding his granddaughter through the process.
Beginning with a bedroom, and then a bathroom, the mum’s project kept on going and eventually became a home.
Documenting her journey through her blog, the mum has blown us away with her hardwork and dedication.
"It's so important for me to have my boys grow up knowing that females can do anything, not only that, I want them to be inspired and know THEY can do anything."
"I've been on a roller coaster of emotions; at the start it was terrifying, but as I started to achieve things I never thought possible, my fear turned into pride, excitement and happiness!"
"Turns out you don't need a lot of 'stuff' you just need a positive attitude," added the mum.
And within four months, the inspirational mum is residing in her very own small home, built by herself, with her two boys and the family couldn’t be happier.
We are quite literally in awe of this woman – isn't it amazing what mothers will do for their children?
We bet they're going to have a lifetime of adventures in this house.
