Mum and daughter take the same picture every year- but the last one will make you cry
Savannah Inthalangsy and her mother shared a special tradition. Every first and last day of the school year they would get an ice-cream or a Starbucks and take a selfie.
The ritual started on Savannah's first day of high school and continued ever since. Now with her time in high school coming to an end, Savannah was ready for the celebratory pic.
She had the smile, she had the Starbucks, but there was one important part missing- her mother.
Yesterday was my last day of high school. For 4 years I’ve taken pictures with my mom on my first and last days of school. She wasn’t able to make it for the last one, but her strength motivated me to stay strong during this time. All of my hard work is for her! pic.twitter.com/pDGlOEoxod

She had passed away on the 19th of December of ovarian cancer. She had been diagnosed when Savannah was in sixth grade but had beaten it. However, she suffered a brain aneurysm and went into a coma before she passed away in December
“For 4 years I’ve taken pics with my mom on my first and last days of school,” Savannah said in her now-viral tweet. “She wasn't able to make it for the last one, but her strength motivated me to stay strong during this time.”
For the last picture she sits by her mum's grave, she even has her mother's favourite Starbucks.
“I wanted to be strong for her because she was strong for me the whole time,” Savannah told local media. “I’m glad she’s proud of me. I can feel she’s proud of me.”
Savannah continued to say that she plans to attend the University of North Texas.
The pictures have touched hearts around the world, with some even sharing their own stories of loss.
Yeah I’m crying. I’m so sorry for your lost.

I lost my mom to cancer my junior year of high school, and just wanted to say that I’m sending you love and peace. It’s hard to keep going with the normalcy of school when something so abnormal is happening elsewhere in life, but you did it and this kindred stranger is so proud.

My heart goes out to all of you, as well as the original poster. I just lost my mom to cancer at the end of my junior year of college, and I am so proud of all of you for being so strong at similar ages. All my love
